We believe in responsible breeding. Therefore, our prices will vary. Please be aware that my prices are based on other puppies selling of the same quality. We do careful research to find out where each one of our dogs come from. We want to encourage responsible breeding so we only offer full breeding rights (full AKC registration) at a higher price. If in the case that your puppy breeds and you only have limited registration on him/her, you will not be able to register his/her puppies through AKC. Either way, it is encouraged to have your puppy registered through AKC for his/her well being. Simply, if you would like to breed your puppy in the future, you will need to purchase on full registration. If you are just looking for a best friend or family pet, you will only need to purchase on limited registration. Feel free to ask me questions!
Buying a Puppy - How It Works
We
have a waiting list started for our puppies before they are born. Once
the puppies are born, we call or email you in the order that you are
placed on the list. Deposits of $300 with your color/gender choice can
then be made after they are born to ensure that we have a puppy of your
preference. If you have to mail me your deposit, you will have 5 days to
get the deposit to me or you will loose your position and each deposit
received before yours will go in front of you for pick. If you are on my
wait list and decide NOT to put a deposit down right after the pups are
born, you will not keep your picking position from the wait list and
you will only get a pick in order your deposit is received later on. Deposits can be made any time after puppies are born to hold a puppy of specific gender and color.
Deposits are non-refundable.
Because of the risk of disease being brought in combined with the fact that we are a small breeder with our own family to accommodate, we do not allow visitors in our home prior to puppy pickup. No more exceptions!
Picks
can be made in the order of the deposits received. It
is very important that you make your pick by 5 weeks or sooner as there
will be others behind you waiting to make their pick as well and so on. I try to
make picking as easy as possible with personality descriptions, videos, and
pictures!
Your puppy's dew claws will be removed a few days after they are born.
Your puppy will be wormed 3 times or more while in our care because it is very common to have worms in nearly every litter. We do the best we can to wipe them out before they go home.
Once your puppy has reached 5 weeks of age he/she will receive their very first Neopar (parvo) vaccine, at 7 weeks we will follow up with a second Neopar vaccine and Neovac Da2(distemper and adenovirus). I will have your puppy checked over by my veterinarian at about 7 weeks old. We will then hold them until 8 weeks to watch for any vaccine reactions.
You may schedule a time to pick up your puppy and bring him/her home after they reach 8 weeks old. I suggest having your puppy essentials ready beforehand, and do NOT bring them to any public places before they receive all their vaccines.
It
is VERY IMPORTANT that at any time you are visiting our home. PLEASE do
NOT bring other animals especially sick animals to our home and please
try not to do your pet shopping immediately before you come to our home.
Parvo is a very powerful, deadly disease for our young puppies and even
though the puppies are given a vaccine against it, they are
still susceptible to it in those first few weeks. The disease can be
carried in on your shoes without you knowing it. A local vet told me
they have a monthly case of Parvo puppies in their clinic. I also know
of some breeders that have been wiped out because of the disease. There
are other diseases as well, but this can be one of the worst. Loosing
puppies is no fun.
I can guarantee that I will never knowingly send home a sick puppy. That is completely against my ethics! If a life-threatening condition is found within 3 days of going home, in a case by case basis, I will refund up to amount paid for the pup only if I am notified prior to any action taken when the condition is found. Any and all vet expenses are not my responsibility once the pup has left my home. Owning a puppy/dog can be costly, but I try my very best to provide healthy puppies/dogs. Before purchasing any animal, please please make sure you can afford an animal that may need any kind of special treatment!
I do my best to provide all the information about my puppies on this website. Please email me with any further questions and provide your phone number and the best time to call you! akpup@yahoo.com
Once I receive an email, I will do my best to get right back to you. Usually, I will be able to give you a call right back!
Please remember when buying, a puppy is a commitment, and not just a gift you can throw away later if you don't like him or her. Please do your research about the breed and remember that puppies require a lot of patience, attention, time, and training!
Thank You!
